Rare Vintage 1970's Ruffled Tulle Gown

$459.00

Rare vintage 1970's ruffled tulle gown. Just right for a breathtaking down-the-isle moment. Playful ruffles at shoulders, cascading down the back and triple tiered at the hemline in front. Each ruffle is finished with a contrasting rolled lettuce hem in blue thread–– adding a subtle yet refined "something-blue." The fitted bodice is so feminine and flattering, giving a nod to a more classic 1950's style and offsetting the fullness of the skirt and shoulders. The mesh fabric is smooth, sheer and lightweight, creating an ethereal, flowing silhouette throughout. The dress is fully lined and in excellent condition. Straps have elastic in them to fit nicely. It comes with the original blue satin sash that has some fading on it–– see all photos. The only tag present is the, 'Union Made' one, so it was made in the U.S.A. Although we can't be certain of fabrications without a tag, our most educated guess is that the mesh overlay is nylon and the lining is a poly/nylon blend. Really a knockout piece. And truly a sophisticated, almost modern spin on the cupcake silhouette without being too overwhelming. It's boho but refined. It's giving victorian and the French countryside, without being costume-y.
